APA telepsychology guidelines will be reviewed and used as a blueprint to introduce participants to core competencies of a telepsychology practice. Audience will be exposed to the nuts and bolts of a telepsychology practice, including discussion of ethical pitfalls, jurisdictional and legal issues, and risk management. A proposal for telepsychology best practices will be offered. 3 CEU’s.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1.  Define telepsychology and identify the benefits to patients and providers.
  2. Identify key components to risk management and emergency planning in the delivery of telepsychology services.
  3. Describe the current status of national PSYPACT and Connecticut state laws regulating the provision of telepsychology services.
